OVA & Movie on DVD - will it ever happen?

Hi guys, I guess this has already been asked (what hasn't?!), but is there any known reason why the OVA(s) and Movie haven't been released on DVD?

I have all 8 volumes of the TV series (thankfully bought them all a year or two back, looking at some eBay prices, they're kinda nuts, I was lucky to snap them up when I did).

I have downloaded the OVA and Movie, but would much prefer a proper DVD release.

When Mitaka put on his full court press in order that he might bully Kyoko into accepting his marriage suit (when he gave her a week to give him an answer to his proposal), IF Kyoko had stayed awake at the Sunday meeting (after she had spent all night waiting for Godai to return to tell her not to), what do you think would have happened?

Would Asuna (and the dog squad) have finally found the courage to speak up to intervene? Would Asuna have been successful in disuading Kyoko if...

Did he do it himself?!

I've been rereading the series (and God, how I do love it!) and I just finished up the storyline where Godai and Mitaka shared a hospital room. And I got to thinking, did Mitaka purposefully break his leg to butt in on Godai and Kyoko, or accidently break his leg skiing, and seeing an opportunity, insist on being taken to Godai's hospital and put in Godai's room? In the manga, it was never explicitly stated either way. There are some hints that he did break his leg on purpose,...

I have read Maison Ikkoku a couple of times. But for some reason I can't seem to find some chapters, even though I feel like I've read them before.
The 'missing' chapter that annoys me most is the chapter where they celebrate christmas for the first time. I don't know if I'm just blind or something, but I can't find it

I've recently been enjoying such a manga, but it isn't MI. It's a currently running title called Otaku no musume-san. Still, for MI fans there are inside jokes in almost every chapter. I've recently picked up the anime again where I left off a year or more ago, around episode 70. My two years in Japan (1990-92) seem to have been a heyday for the "J-Drama" -- including one of the most popular examples of the genre, 101-kaime no puropôzu. The title, as you may guess, means "The 101st Proposal". . . .

I always thought Mitaka's fear of dogs was Takahashi going over the top for the sake of comedy. But I recently met a 20-something adult with an equally violent aversion to dogs (and cats). At least I THINK it's from the OVAs. I used to own an OVA compilation CD and I have no idea what happened to it.

Anyway, it's my favorite song out of the whole MI series and all I remember is that it's a *really* old sounding Japanese guy singing with flute (and maybe acoustic guitar) in the background and the only lyrics I can recall at the moment are the opening words, "Mukashi, watashi wa, ba-re-rina (ballerina?)..."

It might be like an image song...

In the maison ikkoku episode where kyoko goes to godais college for the puppet play.
In the scene where she's walking around there a shot for about 2 seconds, kyoko is in front of a poster and I'm pretty sure it's Lum in the background.

I do remember reading on this site that there are lum cameos in the manga and anime!
