I just got done watching an episode about Yotsuya giving Godai an egg, and now I'm pretty confused. Were the characters shocked because giving an egg has some sort of cultural significance or were they just surprised that Yotsuya gave Godai anything? Furthermore, Kyoko asks if it was raw or hardboiled because it could mean different things. Did she meant that she wanted to know so that they knew how to treat the egg or is there some symbolism between raw and hard boiled eggs. Thanks!...

Manga vs Anime: Best and Worst Changes

Simple enough, right? I'll go first:

Best change: Episode 77, the one where Godai gets the second letter of recommendation from the Yagamis and Godai tells them what they can do with it (but much more politely).

In Ranma there's been commentary about Genma as a parent, and I think Yoiko speculated about Akane and Ranma as parents. We all know just how much Kyoko meant to Coach Mitaka throughout the series, and what his intentions were for her. So towards the end of the series when we get to see Asuna for the first time, do you think Mitaka was just waiting around for Kyoko to finally admit she wanted Godai more, just to hear closure, or did he eventually grow to really love Asuna? With the epiphany of some fine vocal female posters, I thought I would throw this question out there. It seems the females at this board give Kyoko credit for maturity and such, but fault her jealousy quite a bit. Perhaps the females are a bit tougher on Kyoko than the male posters.

Can I ask you, do you think that Kyoko is guilty of emotional torture and manipulation of Godai (and/or Mitaka)? If so, please offer some examples and what you think she SHOULD...

I'm pretty sure their wedding was in April during the spring, but just needed confirmation of this. I'm not sure if anyone out there knows the exact date, though. Spring was such a symbolic season in the series. Newness, growing, beginnings, etc. And for the fact they had their child in the springtime. Our wedding anniversary is in April too kewlness ^_^

Ok like I mentioned in the UY forum I have been gone! But now I can be DikoMH b/c now I am happily married!

Okay, so I've been away from Maison Ikkoku for ages. I own DVD sets 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, but never got around to getting 4, 7, or 8. Now I'm finding that you can't order set 8 from viz.com or rightstuf.com anymore. Is there ANY way to get the last set on DVD or am I out of luck?

After long days downloading this movie from bitorrent, I feel a bit disappointed because the graphics so ugly, poor. I cant understand, after making 96 amazingly nice eps, they made such a thing like that. However, I like the way Ibuki talks to Kyoko that she will not give up and in one day will make an affair with Godai .

I've seen 2D and 3D images of Maison Ikkoku itself. I wonder if anyone's come across maps of Ikkokuland? Doing some research for the site today and stumbled across quite a few videos of our favorite Maison Ikkoku musicians on Youtube. Thought I'd share 'em! The first fiew are the best known. The last few are incidental music from the series. They're cool to watch though (especially the Picasso ones) if you're a fan of the music.

One thing I had wondered after reading the series was if Kyoko would continue with her yearly appointment at Soichiro's grave after she had married Godai (and then had a kid). Does she stop?
