Ranko or Lanko?

Okay, I know the answer to this is probably out there someplace really obvious, but I've not seen it. Everywhere I see the name written it's spelled Ranko, or Ronko, I'm talking about the name Ranma uses for his girl half when his Mom is around BTW, yet when I watched the Episodes (Dubbed) it was pronounced Lanko. Very distinctively, LANKO. What's the deal? Is it some funny Japanese pronunciation/spelling thing? Or did the Dub just mess up? Or else, are the internet writers...

I read on Wikipedia that the Japanese releases of the Ranma OVA's had different opening/Ending songs from episode 7-12 than the western releases. And of course, this was after I brought the US DVD, which really was a bummer when I found out... So is...

Is anybody on this forum a lawyer? I ask this because it occurred to me last night that if Ranma 1/2 were set in the real-life U.S., the entire cast except for Kasumi and Dr. Tofu would have rap sheets stretching from Boston to New York. My question is: what do you think the rap sheets for the series' characters would look like? For instance, I think Genma's might read like this:

Genma Saotome
16 counts child abuse
3 counts child abandonment
37 counts breaking...

How can there be 38 Ranma 1/2 books? I have all 36 and there's no more then there. Is there more in Japan or something? But i'm sure if there was more I would've read them already. Please tell me, I know i'm missing something here.

Gary Chalk as Genma?

I've seen Gary Chalk credited as 'Genma (re-dub)' on several sites, but I never see his name listed in any of the end credits for any season, ova, or movie. On my season 7 box set's "Cast Wrap Party" Robert Smith was there, and credited as Genma in the cast list.

Which episodes did Gary Chalk do Genma's voice in?

Pink and Link in anime

I was just browsing this site's character section, and I noticed Pink & Link's profile features a picture of them drawn anime style.

I've seen every episode and I don't recall them showing up. I'm aware of the Spring Sleep OVA coming out, but is their story getting televised too?

Differentiating Ranmas

For some reason, the methods of differentiating between male and female Ranma in print and speech sometimes bugs me, particularly when the terms "Boy-type" and "Girl-type" are used. It makes me think there should be some sort of disclaimer for a product, like: "Ranma: $19.95. There are 37 varieties of Ranma. Your Ranma may vary. No exchanges permitted."

Does anybody else get this feeling?

Ranma on Robot Chicken

I don't know if any of you watch "Robot Chicken" on Adult Swim, but on the episode aired last night (entitled "We Are a Humble Factory") they did a bit centered on Ranma. It was about a dorky guy finding the spring of drowned girl and deciding that he wanted to become a girl so he could touch boobs and bathe with women. Ultimately the spring he jumps into was where a 400 pound flatulent girl had died.

It was moderately funny.

I've been wondering what color Yoiko's clothes is. Especially her headband.
I've seen a lot of fanart with her, and in most of them she is either wearing yellow or red clothes. Has Rumiko Takahashi ever made a picture of her in color? And if so what does she look like?

What volume or chapter(or even anime) do you think is the boringest? I'd say for me volume 26 when Ranma battles Ryu its boring to me because its ALL about fighting and stuff,to me, fighting in the whole volume is sorta lame for me cuz i'm a girl....^.^

I was just thinking,don't you think its a little odd for Soun and Genma to arrange an engagement when they're just 16 years old?
And they prabably got married around 16 or 17. Us Americans at least get married when we're 22 or so. Just wondering, I mean its a little early but is that the age japanese people get married? I dunno but its a little too soon...
