Funniest 'Anything Goes' Style

Okay, for my first topic, what is the style of martial arts porayed in Ranma 1/2 which struck you as teh funniest or most unusual? There's cat-fu, food-fu, and that gymnastics style among others. I think the food-fu was one of the oddest arcs I've ever seen. How does Takahashi come up with these things?

Hi guys.

I recently found a Ranma 1/2 issue one I bought back in 1992 on impulse. I have decided to stick it on Ebay and did some research to try and get the listing right. As far as I can tell it seems to be quite rare because I haven't found a single mention of a 1992 English language 1st edition full colour version anywhere.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could give me some info on this because I really dont want to list the item incorrectly and mislead...

Hullo all!!

Just got back from watching the new Speed Racer Movie and it is a good film! Very reminiscent of the show in all ways. But in a scene where the Racer family is in a hotel and a ninja tries to attack Speed, the ninja gets flung in the air and weapons fly out of his pockets, along w/ his keys and lo and behold hanging visibly from his keychain? P-CHAN!!!! Dangling from his keys when they hit the wall I laughed so hard!!!! If you go to see this you better have a good eye...

If a U.S.-style sitcom were to be made using any two characters, who do you think they'd be?

Personally, I think the funniest dynamic between any two characters in the series is that between Kuno and Nabiki. Regardless of whether there's any romantic tension, their unique relationship is such that the rest of the series could act as a flow point, with the rest of the cast making recurring guest roles, maybe for entire storylines (i.e. Kuno meets Ranma & PTG, how does...

Throwing water out of a bucket?

First, please excuse my ignorance. In several anime including Ranma ½, I'll see a person take a ladle of water out of a bucket and toss it onto the sidewalk or street. What are they doing? Is this some sort of religious activity or something? If you have any more information on this, please let me know so I can learn more. Thanks!

common guyz! lets do sumthing to bring back ranma 1/2 on tv or dvd/cd... bec. i feel very sad when i see the last OVA or episode of ranma 1/2 (the 2 akanes), i really want to see again ranma 1/2... the love chemistry of the 2 (ranma & akane) is a great combination and i love when they fight/quarrel/jealous to each other & feel shy or flattered to each other... i hope to see again ranma 1/2.. we surely wait for it..

Does anyone know if the new slim DVD sets (parts 1-4 with all 161 episodes) are legit? They don't have VIZ Video on them anywhere but it seems to work in the DVD player okay. Any info on what the deal is on these?

Something got me thinking about this on the ride home from work the other day:

We've seen what Ranma's relationships with Akane and Nabiki are like very clearly on multiple occasions. But we've never really gotten any indication as to how he would relate to Kasumi if she had been assigned the engagement. Assuming the Tofu thing was a non-factor, I ask you all: what would an engagement between Ranma and Kasumi be like?

From information gathered at the manga section of this page, I could not tell whether Ranma 1/2 was offered in the traditional right to left format, or the American left to right format. I thought I had heard somewhere that the last Ranma 1/2 manga volume was in the left to right format in continuation of the way in which it started some 1000 years ago. Why hasn't Ranma ever simply pulled Kuno aside and physically demonstrated the curse in an effort to finally explain the relationship between Ranma and the "pigtailed girl"? Even with Kuno's stupidity, I can't see how he'd be able to ignore a visible demostration. Most of the time, it's just after Ranma's changed, preventing any chance to explain.

This afternoon I heard on the radio a certain song. Take It Easy which I guess by the Eagles. Fits Ranma tho.

Hehehe I was reading the latest Maison Ikkikou thread about fanbage and reminded me of some topic I wondered.
Would Ranma 1/2 do well if it was a shoujo instead of shounen? Relationships and romance are a big part of Ranma.
Certainly it would be retooled some. Already though it of course as I said has stuff other than action certainly however.
