I like so many of her stories hmmm....
Firetripper is really good I'll agree, Cloudlover77.
I also love Maris the Chojo - it's always been one of my favorites and I'd like to see a longer story about her.
Positive Cooking which is one that is perfect the way it is and doesn't need to be expanded upon.
With Cat was really quite clever and sweet.
The Tragedy of P is also really cool - a penguin as a pet???

My favorites are Firetripper, which is surprisingly gripping for being so short, and The Diet Goddess, which was pretty poignant, in my humble opinion.

"Kimi ga Iru Dakede" is the story, right?

My dad just got the Senmu no Inu some weeks ago from Japan and I liked every single one of its stories (the drama is very effective, excellent storytelling of Takahashi). The top stories I liked the best in there were (in no particular order):

Orei ni Kaete
Oyaji Routine
Kimi ga Iru Dakede
Meisou Kazoku F (Fire)

It's a shame that the color pages for Meisou Kazoku F weren't printed, that was a really nice...

"The Diet Goddess" is near and dear to my heart. Well, dear anyway. It was such a genuinely sweet story, and all done without the help of annoying animal mascots, annoying best friends, annoying inner monologues, and annoying mono!

I also like the one about the retired businessman forced to work at a restaurant.

I've only seen, or read, one the the Rumic World series soo..

I'm a fan of 'Firetripper'. How can you note love a story so close to the story of 'Inuyasha'? Plus I love these sort of psychological/mystery stories.

Me, I would definetly go with The Face Pack. Hehe, I laughed my head off whenever they kept changing their masks. I also enjoyed the one with the two psychics. Can't remember what it was called, but really hilarious. I really don't enjoy the dark stories that RT does. They are very good, but I'm the kind of guy that thinks everything should be a joke.

Maaaaaan, it's hard to pin down my favorites since there's something I like about all of them. I'd have to go with:

-Maris the Chojo for the same reasons Mason mentioned. Plus I think "chojo" is a great-sounding word. Chojo chojo chojo.

-Laughing Target. Creeped the hell outta me.

-Shake Your Buddha/Ganbari Masse. It had a great theme and pulled it off in a humorous way.

-Those Selfish Aliens/Katte na Yatsura. It's the one that started it all! Plus...

One of my favorite Rumic Theater stories (I've just started reading them too) would have to be 'Excuse Me For Being a Dog!' I liked the whole premise of the blood rush to the head turns the men into dogs. If there was one short stoy that should be made into a series that one is it. I also loved the comedy in Shake Your Buddah too. What a halirious way to go about the whole secular vs religious debate, religion vs the turnip. And if Budda going in TV wasn't akin to the Televangalists then...

I loved the comedy in "Reserved Seat" too, but I had to make it quick because I was typing up my previous one in the morning before school. (I woke up at 7:00) And now I'm trying to hurry with this one, too, I've got violin orchestra practice in 9 minutes (argh!!!!).

Rumiko always draws her characters with such honest joy ^_^. And yes, I definitely checked the Tomobiki page . I hope the rest of the stories get translated ^_^. (Man...they work hard!!! 0_0; Takahashi and her crew stayed up late with candles to finish their mangas!)

And of course if you like the autobiographical story be sure to check out Tomobiki where Mason has some more of her autobiographical stories that were not published in the US (and are very difficult to find even in Japan).

My favortite short story of hers is probably 1 or W and a close second would be Extra-Large Size Happiness. I really like Hanako in that story. I just like the way she is drawn for some reason.

All good stories mentioned, although technically they're not Rumic World stories. The cat one is mostly a stand-alone side story (even though it was included with the rest in the Viz graphic novel). While 1 or W and the others are part of Rumic Theater which has a more real-world feel. By comparison, Rumic World stories tend to be totally weird comedy or total fantasy.

I'd have to say my favorite is Maris the Supergal since it's humor and sci-fi setting reminds me a lot of Urusei...

Well...I only have P no Higeki and 1 or W, os I'll pick my favorites from there. I liked P no Higeki (the Tragedy of P), Inside the Pots, Poi no ke (the garbage in front of the house story), Slim Kannon, 1 or W, Obaachan to Issho, Inu de Warui ka!!, Ganbari Masse!!, and Grandfather of all Baseball Games.

Hmm...tough choices. I only have one of those books, so I'll
go with my favorite story in that book.

I think I enjoyed her mini-autobiographical story quite a bit (in which she takes care of a friend's cat for a while...). It was very cute. I think what was funniest was the cat sneaking
around her art table (with little signs saying "the cat's back there..." and it's driving poor Takahashi-sensei bats "I can't work! >_<"). I happen to have owned a few...
