Now that the series is over, I think the gang greatly deserves a little vacation. In this insane fanfiction piece, Link and Luigi's Roadtrip Across the
USA, they get just that, in a whimsical Douglas Adams-style narration with some interesting running gags. This is kind of an old story, and it was
actually my introduction to Inuyasha of sorts, since it began before the anime started showing on Cartoon Network. As you might have guessed from the title,
Our Gang somehow follows Kagome to the 21st century, where she decides to take them all on a "Roooooadtriiiiiiiip!!!!" across the Land of the Free
(plus "Canadia"!). (Somehow she can afford plane tickets, a rental car, money for food and lodging, and still have some left over for shopping sprees
and sailing lessons without any income source.) Each state gets its own chapter, some longer than others. It doesn't even try to stay true to the drama of
the series, let alone geography or distance; it's just zany irreverence. If you find this idea insulting to the series and its creator, this story probably
wouldn't be for you. But I found it excellent, especially Sesshomaru's appearances. I would basically describe it as Inuyasha as told by Monty Python.
