Especially she knows how to sacrifice for her loved ones. I feel she's somehow like me. 2/ Kagome : she's gentle, sincere and benevolent; she knows when to talk and when to stay silent, how to react to difficult situations (such as telling Inuyasha: "Can I go with you?" in vol 18 and dealing with "Illusion of Kikyo"!) and how to read others' emotions by a flickle in their eyes; especially she harbors such a noble love for Inuyasha and an understanding for her love rival Kikyo. Nothing ever goes right for the girl. She's super strong, and for most manga characters that would be a good thing, but all it does for her is get her in trouble. She's got mooching parents, a tryannical boss and debt up to her ears. Maybe that's it...I have student loans which just seem to never go away, car payments and my mom always needs to borrow a few bucks. Yeah, I guess I'm alot like Maris. In the end, nothing changed for her and I always felt bad for her. Hmm... I don't know if I'd call her my favorite though. I like Kagome's sweet heart - she has such an incredible willingness to help anyone in need - even if they've abducted her ie Koga. I also like how carefree, intelligent and good Lum is. I love how sweet and motherly Kasumi became for her sisters as a result of her mother's death. Hers is truly a sacrificial, loving heart (one reason I'm so miffed she and Tofu never became an item!). I guess my favorite would have to be a tie between her and Akane. I think I've always wanted to be like Akane - determined, strong and sweet. Although I'm glad I'm a better cook - like Kasumi. After that is Ran from Urusei Yatsura (hilariously crazy and adorable in a strange sort of way), Mana from Mermaid Saga, Akane, and Sister Angela. I really love almost all of Rumiko's women though.

Speaking of Ran from Urusei Yatsura, she usually speaks like cute girls (in the way we call "burikko"), but she speaks like rude guys when she lose her temper. As far as Japanese language, they are very different from each other. I'm wondering how English speaking producers express it? I'm very curious about it.

So "へウプ" instead of " Help". I'm convinced that, however, it sounds "profanity". Maybe it's difficult for me to hear the difference between "Look" and "Wook". But this information improves my English knowledge! Thank you! As far as I'm concerned, I would not use "ヘウプ" but "help".

She's a lot like a real nun: gentle as well as very strict (though the nuns I'm familiar with are a bit more of the latter =P). I chuckled at that one scene where she made the sign of the cross before hitting Kosaku in the stomach. I like Lum and Ran for their silliness and Ran's nutty persecution complex with Lum, Benten and Oyuki. Always thinking they're out to get her; crazy characters like her liven UY up. Same goes for Ryuunosuke; her fights with her dad are very funny and entertaining. You have to admire her endurance and determination.
