The NFL Draft took place in New York over the weekend. In honor of the occasion, I thought it would be fun to create descriptions of RT characters as football
players based on their abilities, both strengths and weaknesses. Include a college if you like, and feel free to repeat.
I'll start with the legendary lecher of Tomobiki.
Ataru Moroboshi, WR USC 5'10 183 lb.
Strengths:
An outstanding natural athlete who could have been an Olympic sprinter if he wanted to. Able to leap over coverage to snatch the ball out of the sky. Will make the spectacular catch. Solid blocker on running plays. Good at reading coverages and knows how to get open. Potentially electifying kick returner who could also play defense in a pinch. When motivated, virtually unstoppable due to sheer relentlessness. Tremendous upside and almost indestructible.
Weaknesses:
Plays down to the level of competition. Lacks bulk and can be jammed by a physical corner. Sometimes drops the easy pass. Easily distracted and rarely motivated to apply himself. Still raw at running routes. Almost uncoachable due to immense disdain for authority and has a huge ego. Severe off-field issues.
The Bottom Line:
Elite recruit coming out of high school. A dangerous deep threat with immense untapped potential that could be an elite receiver. If nothing else, he should be a kick coverage unit's worst nightmare for years to come. The question will always be whether he can keep his head on straight long enough to make an impact. Teams will always have room on their rosters for a guy with this type of talent. Projection: 5th round.
