I still fly warhawks in the default control mode. Do you do that as well, do you use advanced mode or whatever it's called with the sticks, or dop you use the motion sensing method? Just trying to get a feel for what I should get used to doing to be more competitive. I'm starting to get better in the game overall, but flying is definitely my weak point. Still feeling the pain when it comes to playing a shooter with a controller instead of a mouse.
Although I seem to do ok at times in the air, usually against ground targets, I get owned hardcore air-to-air. Mainly I just use the warhawk it to get from place to place faster, or for trying to blow up flag runners in jeeps before I get shot down by a turret, RPG, or another warhawk
The flamethrower seems to work nicely on tanks. I fear them a lot less after discovering that.
Mines suck. I never see them in time
Getting a better feel for the game has certainly helped my score. I'm up to Sergeant now, mostly from team points. Took me a while to figure out why I wasn't getting promoted to Airman 1st Class, but I finally found out I had the wrong award requirement in mind for it and was lacking 30 team points in a round. That was tricky at first, but after getting it I don't seem to have as much trouble with 30 team points in a round now. Promotion award requirements are currently covered up to the rank that requires air to air. That may take a good bit of practice, considering how fast I tend to die in dogfights.
I didn't think I'd say this after playing and liking multiplayer so much in Call of Duty 4, but Warhawk is just fabulously addicting. CoD4 is great realistic fun, but there's something to be said for the more "unrealistic" shooters like Warhawk or Unreal Tournament.
