Single most funniest momement is...? |

I know that this has been touched on before, but seeing that I just finished reading the manga I just had to ask if any fans of the show can remember one incident that stuck out as the funniest

THis is cruel.
The scene that comes to mind right now would be, the chapter where Yusaku gets a black eye (well two) during winter break. And the way, he desperately tries to stall at home to avoid facing Kyoko with them. The moment his secret is reveal to Kyoko & her reaction, never fails to make me chuckle each time I read that story. |

Probably the episode that really won me over to MI and that would be when the puppet club put on the show during the school festival and Kyoko was talked into having a part.

Probably what I found the most humorous was this thing I posted about earlier.
Another one of my favorites is the time when Kuroki scolds Godai for misuse of his puppet, as quoted in my signature. EDIT: Also chapter 48 ("No Peeking"). "Hey! Don't scratch your head with the puppet, twit!" |

I don't know that there's one single moment, but a couple of my favorites, from the anime, have been the scene where Kyoko brings Yusaku that box from home and is wearing her super short shorts, and he just stands there with his toothbrush hanging out of his mouth staring at her.
And I can't remember what episode it is, but Kyoko and Mitaka are sitting on the beach and a dog barks or something and scares him and he does this insane little laugh and goes "I love the beach." Just the way John Payne delivered that line made me laugh so hard I had to pause it. haha ![]() "Ichigo Ichie" Each moment, only once |

Oh wow, the single funniest....well I really liked the way John Payne delivered that beach line as well, but thats more for his portrayal than anything else.
If I had to pick a "funniest" scene, it would have to be Yotsuya telling Kyoko about overhearing Godai's nighttime "noises". |

For me it would have to be Nikaido's introduction arc where he gets into that feud with Yotsuya. I always liked Yotsuya, but I never quite understood until that point why he is so hated and feared by Godai. He's like an amoral version of Seinfeld's Kramer, and I respect him as a true master of pranking.

The puppet show was probably one of the scenes that won me over, too. XD But I think I'm also partial to the falling down into the well chapter.

I just started reading, but I love the scene during the episode when Kyoko was kissed by Akemi.
The scene when the coach is about to kiss Kyoko and that song plays on the radio. the whatever singed by dogs. |

Quote: Ha ha. i remember that box contained goodies for Yusaku from home. It was so funny, how Yotsuya & Akemi were raiding the box in the background as poor Yusaku stood in stunned paralysis. |

I think when Mitaka found out it was McEnroe's baby and he wanted the dog to take responsibility for Asuna. I nearly had an asthma attack from laughing, and I don't even have asthma.
Sometimes, reading Takahashi can be hazardous to your health, but I wouldn't mind dying that way. Second would be dying on top (or below) a beautiful woman. |

Re: Single most funniest momement is...? | ||||||

I would have to say when Mitaka's dag screwed him over; "Rock 'n' Roll" was going to have puppies with Asuna's dag "Salad". The whole thing was misunderstood by Mitaka when Asuna was trying to explain to him that her dag was pregnant and would be expecting. Mitaka thought he knocked-up Asuna after getting really drunk with Yuusaku because they couldn't find a place to have a man-to-man fight. Mitaka didn't remember what happened to him that night when Asuna found him drunk at his apartment door. Thus he went along with the omiai to get engaged with Asuna. Eventually Mitaka was told the truth and we couldn't get out of the engagement.

Other really funny moments from the comic that pop into my head:
When Kyoko tries on her old school uniform and the crowd busts in on her. Somebody asks what she's doing, and Yotsuya suggests, "Perhaps you were planning on enrolling at a girl's highschool?" The tape Godai makes (I think for Kyon Kyon) at his pre-school, explaining in age appropriate language that he could not marry her, that accidentally gets switched with the tape for Kyoko, containing his "true feelings." When Kyoko plays the tape, and Godai's saying something like, "I'm so big, and Kyon Kyon is still so little," while, I think, Mrs Ichinose comments, "that kid is seriously messed up," that was great. The Nikaido clue contest where he guesses on clue 131 that Kyoko and Godai are fighting because they're really in love. Funny, and at the same time, a bit of the Emperor's clothes moment: the kid shouts out what Godai and Kyoko are having trouble coming to terms with. |

Disappointed, he returns to Tokyo to tell a bewildered Kyoko that his parents said no, but that it didn't matter because he wasn't serious anyways . . . the expressions on Kyoko was priceless. What chapter was this? Sounds great. |

Lots of good ones mentioned here. I think my favourite is the puppet show towards the end, where they make Godai and Kyoko play puppets skewing their
situation. Godai's puppet wants to marry Kyoko's, but he's so destitute and beneath her he can't bring himself to ask. The whole time
they're both behind the booth, red-faced and uncomfortable. Great stuff!

I hadn't read the manga yet, but from what I've seen of the anime so far, the funniest scene (or I guess episode) for me is when they dressed up in
their school uniforms and made up a "soap opera".

Hmmm.. funniest moment I can think of is when Kyoko, Ikuko, Godai, Kentaro and Mitaka are driving to the beach and Soichiro pops up and freaks Mitaka out. Then
he tries to keep Soichiro away from Mitaka. Yeah, they could have died, but wow, what a moment.
