Harley and I managed to track down a few new magazines lately. As anyone who's been around the boards for long knows, we're obsessed with obtaining the original magazine's with Takahashi's color artwork. And have managed to pretty a fairly good sized dent in collecting them.

Thankfully I've got an awesome girlfriend in Japan right now who's been spoiling me. I just received a big Valentine's Day box in the mail which was loaded to the brim with all sorts of goodies.

Can you tell what that is? Its chocolate poo and a chocolate breast! *lol* They're actually very yummy.

Hoshi also sent us two OUT magazines with UY and MI anime stuff, Big Comic Spirits Aug 20 1984 with Happy Talk color pages, Pafu magazine from 2000 with IY stuff, a huge Inuyasha wall "pin/button", a newly written Rumiko Takahashi biography, three Gegika Sonjuku Takahashi posters (Reindeer girl, Dragon girl, Monkey girl), a Rumiko Anthology Pencilboard, the Urusei Yatsura 10th Anniversary 8/18 Budokan Special CD, the brand new issue of Big Comic Original 5 2008 with the Shiowase List short story, the two newest issues of Young Sunday (10 and 11) with an Angela Poster and Angela Valentines Day Card featuring new Takahashi artwork and a Waku Waku Inuyasha quiz book. Last but not least, she got me FIVE Maison Ikkoku Drama CDs (with maps of Akemi's room, Kozue's house and Mitaka's house!)

We also managed to track down Young Sunday 1989 #15, with some color pages of Matsuzaka's introduction.

A lot of this stuff is probably going to be showing up on the site in the next few weeks. I know Harley just finished translating Grafitti Pop but I think he's going to start on Shiowase List as his next translation project, so look forward to that too.

But really, those are some great treasures to add to your already immense collection. This site will continue to grow. Now that I'm thinking about it, with drama CDs and musical ones, will you guys consider posting some samples to stream? Not full disks mind you but just some portions?

Yeah, I'd be happy to post up some pictures of the other stuff. I'll get some samples together off the MI CDs and post them in the Maison Ikkoku section in the next day or so.

I forgot to mention that we already had the Waku Waku Inuyasha Quizbook, so look for that to show up in an upcoming contest, whenever we do one.

Maybe more pictures of the choco boobs too. *L*

Speaking of OMG, what's the deal? Dark Horse keeps missing release dates on the reprints of the manga! Volume 8 got pushed back from Feb 15 to sometime in April!

Collecting from Japan is hard, but Yahoo Japan makes it a lot easier, and having someone over there to look for stuff helps too. Of course there are things that still elude us (Damn you, MOON dai peeto ou!).

Dark Horse keeps missing release dates on the reprints of the manga!

Gah! Don't remind me...yesterday I got the first two manwha from a series from a used bookstore, thought that they were okay, went online to get some more...and found out that the English translations were canceled after the third book in 2005. BOO!

First of all: wow! A chocolate boob? Second: A Rumiko Takahashi biography??? That sounds insanely cool! I've always been really interested in what her life it was like but was never really able to find out much on it. I really hope VIZ puts out an english edition. Third: Dark Horse is a twisted evil sadistic company for putting out three volumes of Museum of Terror and then just dropping the title. Sometimes I honestly think they did that just to torture me.

Interesting coincidence...Today I was at a used bookstore and found a bunch of old Ranma, and Urusei Yatsura VHS's, the Mermaid Forest OVA VHS (I owned most of what I found on DVD but I thought it was cool to find the tapes because they're probably pretty rare), and an old looking wide band edition of UY volume 4, which I originally assumed to be in Japanese but flipping through it I didn't see any hiragana or katakana. Just characters. So now I'm thinking it's in chinese (or something). Anyway, I thought it was cool because it had a color fold out poster of Lum bathing with chibi versions of most of the cast surrounding her. I'm not sure how rare these things are but they all seemed like great finds so I bought them.

But you're from Japan, right Fanboy? It would probably be less likely for any Americans or other Westerners to find Lum products in used bookstores in our countries. Although I did see part of a British TV special on YouTube recently on used toy stores with shots of UY action figures and videos. Just gotta keep your eyes open, of course.

Okay, I thought it'd probably be easiest just to post this stuff here.

Stuff Hoshi got for me in Japan that I brought back:
Two huge IY Clearfiles. These badboys are poster sized hard plastic monsters. Very cool looking.
Tons of Blackjack stuff. My favorite Tezuka character. She got 12 original, beautiful BJ cels for me (my cel collection is growing!)
Various Shonen Sundays.

Stuff I got for myself in Japan.
All the Uniqlo Takahashi shirts. Three UY shirts, one Ranma 1/2 and the brand new Inuyasha one.
An issue of Animedia with IY on the cover, an old issue of Newtype with the only Maison Ikkoku cover.
Urusei Yatsura shinsobon 9, 12, 25. For the new artwork, I'll post those on the shinso topic after Yoiko translates the creator comments.
More Blackjack stuff. Keychains, magnets and things from the Tezuka Museum. I also got a BJ coffee mug that has his scars on it, and on the back it says "I don't have a license." which is funny because I don't have my license to practice psychology yet. haha
Another copy of the UY Memorial Book since ours was missing the poster inside.
The UY Songbook which has sheetmusic from the series.
Shonen Sunday Zokan #5, from 1979 with the first chapter of Dust Spot in it.
Two issues of Koike's Daikaku magazine that Takahashi did illustrations in.
Urusei Yatsura Gashapon sets 2 and 3.
Inuyasha Vol. 53
I got Yoiko a Rosa from Final Fantasy 4 gashapon.
Oh, I got a huge-breasted naked hentai girl gashapon thats pretty funny looking.
The Inuyasha Band of Seven drama CD.
An electronic Inuyasha that has Kagome's voice saying "Osuwari" when you hit him on the head, then Inuyasha makes a little screaming noise.

Annnnnnnd the best thing I found was without a doubt Shonen Sunday 1978 issue 39. Which has the VERY first chapter of Urusei Yatsura in it. Its sort of beaten up looking, but I had to get it. It was only $15 bucks (I see it sell for a lot higher on Japanese auction sites). It instantly goes into our Top Ten Rarest Takahashi Items that we own.

I took a few pictures, if theres anything else you guys wanna see let me know and I'll photograph it too!
