A 1/50 scale replica is under construction for the exhibition "It's a Rumic World". One of hosts of the event asked Shinohara Hisato to make it
because they are friends from their childhood.

How cool! I believe that somebody made an actual full-scale replica of Satsuki and Mei's house from My Neighbor Totoro as a tourist exhibit (in the actual
area the story took place, natch)...it would be really neat if they would do the same thing for Maison Ikkoku

We've added photos from the Maison Ikkoku section of the exhibition to the site, which includes the scale Ikkoku-kan model for those that want to check it
out, plus we've got photos of Kyoko's room and some of the final pages from the manga as well.

I love it: Soichiro's dog house is so kawaii, I'm glad they included it. I thought they'd just have the building itself, but the yard adds alot to
it as well.
SPOILER for the last chapter: Also, seeing Kyoko in her traditional wedding kimono always gets me. She's so beautiful in it! Thank you so much, webmasters - and especially Houshi - for these wonderful glimpses into the exhibit. |
