Genma's always been my favorite character. I think he and Ranma have a really funny relationship, plus he turns into a panda. What's not to like?

Ryoga! Although I admit some of his choices may not have been the best

Among all characters, I'm a big fan of Dr. Tofu. He's like this all-knowing wiseman...until Kasumi arrives and his true goofiness manifests itself. It's almost as if he has a dual personality. While it's a shame RT phased him out so suddenly, I also understand why he was no longer needed in the manga. A great character who deserved a slightly more significant role, if for no other reason for him to try to show Kasumi how much he loves her (a great running gag opportunity).
If it were narrowed to the main group, read my name. I'm into psychology a little, and I can say with confidence that Freud would have a field day with Ranma, to say the least. But he's managed to adjust to it on his own, which is admirable considering the lunacy that surrounds his daily life. Just a fun character. I made two sports teams featuring only RT characters, and both of them feature Ranma as a Hall of Fame-level talent (football and baseball). A unique combination of badassery and goofiness that cannot be described with words. I guess I'm one of the few people who's not a big Ryoga fan. His resiliance is definitely endearing, but there's a point where it becomes annoying, and he's passed it for me. Still humorous, though and definitely the catalyst for some of the series' most outrageous moments. |

I think just about any character in the series, except arguably Kasumi or Nabiki would have that effect on Freud. And Happosai would try to make him his student after hearing all of Freud's theories about sex. Sound about right?

Meh, I bet Freud would have something to say about both Kasumi (repressed/over-developed superego, mabybe?) and Nabiki (why is she so obbessed with money? What does it stand for?), because that's the brilliant (and irritating) thing about Freud's theories - they can apply to anyone
Except Freud, of course, because 'sometimes a cigar's just a cigar'. Bah. |

Now that you mention it, Ranma might be one of the most NORMAL characters in the cast. He doesn't seem to have any real defense mechanisms since his constant training prevented any opportunity to develop them.
Kuno on the other hand, has delusions of the highest degree. Ranma has switched genders in the guy's arms, and it leads him to think Ranma's a sorceror instead of getting it! It's guys like that who make psychologists all kinds of dough. Ryoga would be an interesting study too. A friend of mine's a psychologist, and I nearly convinced her to do an analysis of Ranma. At the very least it would be interesting. The Wikipedia pages for these characters, especially Kuno, delves into a little psychology in an effort to explain behavior. |

I apologize for any offense I may have caused you. I am well aware of the difficulty of obtaining such a degree.I assisted friend of mine in studying for one of her exams, and I was very proud when she passed. She takes it very seriously, and I was personally offended when Tom Cruise started mouthing off to Matt Lauer on the Today Show a few years ago.
I don't take Wikipedia's pages seriously, so guess I should have said that they try but come up short. It's more along the lines of hypotheses based on visual evidence rather than actual analysis. Edit: This topic merits its own discussion line, so I'm starting a new post so that the original topic on this board can resume. |

I have to say that my favorite character is most defiantly NOT Ranma. I like the guy, but his Ego just gets in the way. his Ego just pops its shinny little head in the wrong situations. "how can I get any sexier than this" Ranma during the "Asuka the white lily"
I guess for me its a split between Kodachi and Mouse. kodachi I like for she is insane for the sake of insanity, if you can do anything to interrupt the situatuion, DO IT. and mouse knows not only fights as hard as he can, but also knows that Honor and dignity are worth nothing when your dead (or something less extreme) |

Ranma he's just like me, I just don't have the ego to go with, on the contrary my self esteem is even deeper then the devil's ass. But what I
really like about Ranma is that he is honorable(most of the time), yet he knows the right time to do things(dating Shampoo for a cure, but there is no cure if
you ask me).
Herb is a good choice as well, he is kinda like me, in general a good guy(even when a girl sometimes... I wonder what happened to him?!) but fights for what he wants and believes. |

I like Mousse best. He is pretty much the coolest guy in Ranma, and besides I feel sorry for him.

Hmmm, I also love Ranma (Saotome) though.

I wouldn't say he's my absolute favorite, but I really like Ryoga. He knows how to survive going off of hardly any food or shelter, and he does what he
can to help others. He's a lot less cocky then Ranma, however his humble personality ends up having others take advantage of him. He's just a sweet lil
piggie!

Tsubasa Kurenai. Smart, cute, witty, snappy dresser, good at disguises, determined, strong, fast, an okay martial artist though not at level of some of the
main characters I have no problem admitting. He is not as flighty as alot of people it perhaps seems say that he is. He in my opnion didn't go back to Ukyo
after dumped. Whether at end of episode (be it manga or first anime appearance) no one knows what happened then leaving me to wonder if he went home, stayed in
Furinkan or what. Like with all Ranma 1/2 characters the typical fanfiction author seem to exergerate his qualities.

Hmm, I like both Ryoga and Tsubasa, but I can't say they're my favorite characters. I am more of a Ranma/Mousse girl myself.

OK, so Mousse is cute (winks at you)

Mousse,
the reason I like Mousse is because he always fights with style, using creative techniques like the Fist of the White Swan and Raking Hawk Talons, and he carries a prodigious arsenal of weapons within his capacious robes, in addition to this he usually has a good plan, they're usually well conceived too, "The Abduction of Akane" and "The Ryoga Mousse Alliance" for example, and when Ryoga first encounters him, Mousse easily fools him with, "Look down, look round," then again, Ryoga is quite gullible and easily duped, in the episode "Mousse Goes Home to the Country", Mousse quickly defeats Kuno without any difficulty (Kuno is kind of pathetic), but when he goes to fight Ranma he's beaten after a considerable struggle, in fact Mousse is probably one of the smartest characters on the show, but he's obsessed with Shampoo and he often goes without his glasses, both of these issues make him behave stupidly on some occasions, he'd be better off if he gave up on trying to win Shampoo's resolute heart,

Gosh, picking one character is difficult. I like Ryoga because he's just so gullable, strong and sweet - a funny combination. Genma in his lunacy does make
for some funny father-son interactions, expecially when he's a panda. Somehow I think it must have taken Ranma some getting used to to talk seriously to
his father when he looks like a giant panda. Soun Tendo is also an interesting father, crying at the drop of a hat. You know, I could probably go on all
day...lets just say I think they're all good for a laugh.
