Seems probable. They're in the final battle. Though, Takahashi has a talent for writing detailed stories that don't rush to a conclusion. But, at MOST,
1 more volume after this.

anything.

8 chapters left in book 55, so if she can wrap it up in 8 it'll be the end. Somehow I'm thinking there will be 18 more chapters though and it'll
end on 56.

Yeah, wrapping it up in eight chapters seems very unlikely. They haven't even confronted Naraku directly yet (I think - I've read up through chapter
538). A volume 56-57 finish is more like it.

I agree, 8 chapters won't get us anywhere....and is this really the last battle? For all we know one of Kagome's arrow could shatter the Shikon no Tama
again and were back to where we started with another 20 volumes to go.

That's like when someone asked in another thread about another villian after Naraku. Takahashi may just receive some death threats if
that happened. 
Yeah, I can see another volume, if only to sew up the relationship between Kags and Inu, as well as the rest of the main characters' storylines. I really want them to kiss by the end of the manga and/or admit their feelings to one another. It may be too tense during the final battle for such a romantic encounter, so another volume may be in order. |

according to the Mayan calender the world will end in 2012 about the same time as we get the last chapter of Inuyasha.....
