The Maison Ikkoku anime ended today, March 2, 1988. I was SIX years old. That's so hard to believe, and its hard to believe that the series ended that long ago and still has yet to see the end of the anime be released in America. Soon hopefully!

Grade 9 and I've only read a few chapters of manga back then. The first chapter I read was during the Yagami arc and that draw me in for the rest of the series.
Finish the whole series of Manga in 92. Finsh the whole series of Anime just last month. Doesn't know any better in the anime world, I bought the DVD fansub on Ebay and thought it's the real thing. But yeah, the ending of anime is at least as good as manga although seems to be faster paced. But every element in last book is transfer to anime, word for word, scene for scene. And the BGM just complement it so well that it'll leave tears in your eyes. |

March 2,1988.....I was 8,turning 9 later in the year.....
I started reading the manga about two years ago(I have most of Viz first release, and am picking up the new editions for the stories I missed the first time, and because I like the covers better),and started the anime last year..... This series is just so great..I like all the characters, and the series often makes me laugh(or cry,as the situation demands)...it's my second fave Takahashi series(after Inu-Yasha)... Without evil there can be no good,so it must be good to be evil sometimes-Satan(South Park the Movie)
"Blackmail" is such an ugly word.I prefer "extortion"...the "x" makes it sound cool..-Bender(Futurama) |

Hylentor, I'm just curious, have you seen/read Maison Ikkoku? I just can't recall if I've heard you say you have or have not. It seems like you said you had.

I've got the first two boxsets and either 2 or 3 of the new gns, and sporadicly spaced comics through the series. ---The Hylentor
