Re: Chapter 533 | ||

Now THAT'S interesting. How is Kagome supposed to fight crazy-demon Inuyasha? The only way I can see is to get to the jewel and purify it. How? No idea. Or will Inuyasha's "weak" mind prove itself stronger than Naraku believes? I hope so. Perhaps Inuyasha will have to bring forth all his humanness to overcome his transformation, enough, perhaps, to wake up the "good" side of the jewel? I don't know, so many possibilities at this point. But I think it's safe to say that Naraku's defeat will ultimately be at Kagome's hands.

Re: Chapter 533 | ||

Kagome is in a real bad spot right now. Kagome hasnt ever confronted a jewel-powered full-youkai, mindless Inuyasha. In past, Tessaiga had been able to keep Inuyasha from going full-youkai berserker, and allowed him to use youkai strength while staying sane. But it looks like, this time, Tessaiga couldnt do a thing to stop or control the transformation.
And in the past, Kagome was able to bring Inuyasha back from youkai madness, with her love. But can her love be strong enough this time to go up not only against the beast within Inu but also the evil within the jewel? Inu this time took a swipe at Kagome, which hed never done before, so I dont think so. Kagome still has her sit command of course, but as noted above by Godai, what if it doesnt work anymore because of the seal on her powers and/or the jewels evil effects? Or what if Inu now can rip the subjugation beads away or they fall off because theyre caught between two giant opposed magical forces? That would leave Kagome in mortal danger, with no ready means to counter a rampaging Inuyasha. Certainly, Kagome faces a crisis far more deadly than any shes faced before. Its ironic that the completed Shikon Jewel has, in essence, granted Inuyasha the wish he had back in the beginning of this story to be full youkai and not a hanyou. But Inu has long since moved beyond that simple wish and I think he has developed a great capacity for love. In fact, I think love will be what beats Narakus ploy. But Kagomes love of Inuyasha by itself wont be strong enough this time to restore our dog-boy to himself. Inu from somewhere deep inside of himself will have to bring forth a love for Kagome to match Kagomes love for Inu. Only then will the two of them together be able to overcome the jewels baneful influence and bring Inu back to normal. And I think their mutually-affirmed love also will play a key part in unsealing Kagomes powers. Naraku surely was a sly devil, using Rin to halt the one Inu attack that might actually do him damage. It looked like Naraku took pains to display Rin in a way that left big doubts about whether what Inus group saw could be real or fake. It also wasnt at all surprising that Naraku would try to separate the fighters. Divide and conquer is one of the oldest tactics there is. Sesshomaru is off someplace, Sango and Miroku are by themselves, and Kagome is off alone with a full-nutso youkai-Inu. Separated, Naraku can pick them off individually, at his leisure. The wild card now is Sesshomaru and what he will be capable of. As with Inu and Kagome, Sesshomarus power to assist in this desperate final fight will arise from his compassion and ability to love, not just love Rin but also Inuyasha and, by extension, Inus whole group. But how Sesshomaru will exhibit that vital compassion and love is unclear to me yet. Next week will see a double-numbered Shonen Sunday issue, which means no chapter the week of Dec. 17. Therell probably be a chapter the week of Dec. 24 but then another skip for New Years week. So basically there are two chapters left to run this year. I cant see this story wrapping up in just two chapters (more like 22) so its most likely to keep running into the spring. But it looks like well have quite a wild ride from here to The End. (^_*) |

Along the same lines as my last comment, I saw the episode of Inuyasha where they went into Midoriko's cave last night. It reminded me that she, as well, was in the jaws of the youkai when she created the shikon no tama.
Just a little side-note that I thought was interesting. |

Rin is still with Inuyasha and Kagome, right? I think it's clear that Sesshoumaru will be going there. He usually shows up when Inu goes demon, and if Rin is there...
I wonder if Jaken is going to get to be a hero. Maybe he'll help save Rin, to get back in Sesshoumaru's good graces. And what will Shippo do? Maybe Shippo and Jaken will work together! ~Dip |

Well, as far as I can tell, Jaken is still MIA - he may show up, but I don't know how he'd get inside Naraku with the rest of them.
Kags and Inu are cut off from everyone else, though it's not inconcievable that Sesshoumaru could come to Kag's and Rin's rescue. I have to admit, dip, at this point, it seems as if he's the only one strong enough to battle a youkai Inuyasha. I wonder what effect the Shikon no Tama will have on Sessy, if any?...hmmm Shippo was left behind, but he's foolish enough to try to find the rest of his friends to help. He would have a hard time of it though. I don't really see him showing up for this fight. |

Chapter 534 | ||

Well we lost our posts on chapter 534. I posted a LOT unfortunately.
I really liked how Takahashi didn't cop out with Inuyasha's demonic reversion. Attacking Kagome not once but TWICE. I was really so caught up in that storyline that I was a little down about switching to Miroku and Sango at this point, but that didn't last long as everything she did with them just blew me away. And I was really taken aback by the whole illusion/memory of Miroku's father dying and both Sango and Miroku's reaction to it. The fact that it was just an old memory for Miroku but very shocking and upsetting for Sango. I felt that their reactions rang very true and was an exceptional bit of characterization. And then of course the big shock at the end of Sesshomaru finding Kagome. So where does everyone think this is leading? We've got two weeks to speculate. Sesshomaru versus Inuyasha perhaps? |

re: chapter 534 | ||

Well, I guess I'll repost what I wrote too, if I can remember.....
This was a nerve-wreaking chapter. I couldn't believe it - there was absolutely no recognition in Inuyasha's eyes when he faced Kagome. I was also surprised that, despite the fact that Kagome went to him in said state before to embrace him, she never attempted to do so. I guess she never really got a chance before he swiped at her. After that, she must have realized it would be a fruitless endevour. I can't help but think that this was a similar situation in which Kikyo and Inuyasha once found themselves. Kikyo found herself in the uncomfortable position of having to decide whether or not to attack Inuyasha and she did. Only now Kagome wouldn't take the shoki-enhance arrow to kill Inuyasha - she trusted him too completely. She's too good for her own good. I sure hope Naraku gets what's coming to him. I can't believe (okay, maybe I can) that Naraku would show such a graphic scene to Sango and Miroku. This was an incredibly painful moment in Miroku's life, but, since he realized it was just an illusion, he showed little emotion except confusion. When he realized it was for Sango's sake and not his, however, he grew fearful of Sango's reaction. Sango is a strong person, I hope she can overcome the emotions she must be feeling after seeing the horrible way she and Miroku will die if they stay together. My heart lept when Sesshoumaru showed up. |

I wonder though, how many times has Sesshy faced demonic Inuyasha, but never killed him? He's had many opportunities, perhaps he'll kill him then
resurrect him again? Now, the summary didn't mention anything, but is Kagome ok, or did the fall off the cliff really hurt her?

A very good chapter. I thought Takahashi would have to show the consequences of the what being sucked into the Wind Tunnel was, but I thought she'd have to
show it done to Miroku. I think by showing his father get killed by it, she won't have to kill Miroku off. It's interesting to see the story returned
to it's roots (Kagome will have to decide if she should shoot Inuyasha with the arrow, ala Kikyo/Inuyasha, which then mirrors the Lum/Ataru game of tag
from the beginning and ending of Urusei Yatsura). Pretty cool.

She's unconscious at least. I don't think she's dead or anything as serious as that.Though, if she is dead, the right person found her, ne? It would also make any later battles more dramatic, as no one can be raised from the dead more than once by Tenseiga. I have to agree, though. i don't think Takahashi, or Naraku, would have her die like that. Naraku just wants her to realize that Inuyasha would kill her so that she would be more likely to take the shoki arrow next time. Naraku is smart enough to know that he has to break her down before she would betray Inuyasha. Before I forget. In what way does the Shikon no Tama want the Inu-gang's souls? When Naraku said that - last chapter I think it was - it almost sounded as if he was doing the tama's bidding instead of the other way around. Who's in control: the Shikon no Tama or Naraku?

I wonder if Naraku showed that to Sango in order to seperate her from Miroku, after all in his mind if
Sango knows what will happen to her if she stays near Miroku she will likely move away from him.

Chapter 534 | ||

REPOSTING WHAT I WROTE ON CHAP. 534 MANGA CHAP. 534 - ARROW OF SHOUKI OUR STORY: As chapter opens, Kagome confronts a bereserk youkai Inuyasha as Naraku looks on. She yells for Inu to pull himself together, but in his youkai madness Inu instead attacks Kagome, gashing her right shoulder with his claws. Her blood flows. Naraku asks Kagome why she doesn't calm Inu down by purifying him. Kagome looks back at Inuyasha stalking her as Naraku jeers that she can't to anything now because her powers are still sealed by Magatsuhi. Kagome runs in a direction opposite of where she senses the jewel, hoping Inu will follow her. She's thinking that if she can lure Inu far enough away from the jewel, he'll return to his senses. Naraku tells Kagome it's useless to run, that youkai Inuyasha's sole thought is killing her. Naraku offers to help her. He gives her an arrow, telling her that it's filled with his deadly shouki and that if she shoots Inuyasha with it, she will be safe. Kagome is appalled at this, and keeps on running despite the pain from her bleeding shoulder wound. Inuyasha follows her, growling, bloodlust in his eyes. Kagome's run is stopped short, however, when Naraku forms a high cliff from his flesh right in front of her. She turns back to see Inuyasha coming up fast and for the first time, Kagome is afraid of him. She calls out Inu's name but he doesn't respond. Naraku again offers Kagome his shouki arrow and says it's either shoot Inu or be killed by him. Kagome calls Naraku stupid and declares she'd never shoot Inuyasha, that he would never... "Never kill you?" says Naraku with an evil chuckle. He says Kagome will understand everything shortly. Inuyasha races up to Kagome, growling, and punches her in the heart, sending her flying over the edge. In her last moment of consciousness, Kagome can't believe what Inu just did to her. She plunges into darkness as Inu watches his prey get away. Naraku laughs at Kagome for being such a fool. Scene changes to a view of Miroku, Sango and Kilala making their way through Naraku's body. Sango wonders what part of Naraku's body they're in. Miroku reminds her that Kagome sensed the Shikon Jewel deep inside Naraku. In the silence that follows, Sango hears the thin hiss of air being drawn in past the edges of the Kazaana's cover and thinks the sound is louder than before. She's afraid the next time Miroku opens his Kazaana might be his last. Miroku sees her concerned look at him and asks her what's the matter. Before she can do more than say his name, a mist swirls up around them and they wonder what nastiness Naraku is up to now. The mist clears away to reveal a decrepit temple building. Sango wonders if this is another illusion. But Miroku recognizes the building as the place where he was raised by the old monk Mushin after his father died, and wonders what Naraku's purpose is in showing this. Figures appear and talk with each other. Miroku recognizes what Naraku is showing to him and Sango - the final moments that Miroku's father spent in the living world. They watch as papa says his farewells to Miroku and Mushin, then goes out to the middle of the temple field and is destroyed by his own Kazaana. Sango screams in fright and despair, utterly horrified by this fate. The scene vanishes, but Sango is in shock. She clings to Miroku, shivering and sobbing. Miroku tells her to not be alarmed, it was just an illusion. He wonders why Naraku showed them this vision, but quickly realizes Naraku's sinister purpose was for Sango to see Miroku's fate if he keeps using the Kazaana. At this point, the Naraku-flesh around them stirs and Naraku forms sharp-tipped tentacles for an attack on the couple. Scene changes to the base of Naraku's cliff where Kagome has fallen. She is injured and unconscious. Sesshomaru, still searching for his Rin, turns a corner and discovers Kagome. He stands still and studies the helpless wounded girl.. THE END (^_*). MY THOUGHTS Oh brother! Naraku's out to divide and conquer. He's caused the unthinkable to occur between Inu and Kagome. Inuyasha for the first time actually attacked and hurt Kagome with the intent to kill her. Kagome for the first time seemed afraid OF Inuyasha instead of fearing for him. And now Sesshomaru comes upon Kagome, lying helpless and hurt. Sessho knows she and Inu were together and can probably figure that something's gone very wrong with Inuyasha for Kagome to end up like she has. But what will Sessho do in response? I think he'll put aside his search for Rin for the moment, awaken Kagome, find out for sure what happened and then he'll go try to knock some sense into Inu. Just to thwart Naraku's plan, of course, not out of brotherly concern. Or will Naraku try to prevent that from happening by showing Sesshomaru that Rin is nearby, presenting Sessho with a choice of saving Rin and letting Kagome die at Inuyasha's hand as Naraku wants, or saving Kagome from youkai Inuyasha in order to thwart Naraku's plan, at a price of losing Rin? In short, choose between love and pride. Still, while Inu's attack on Kagome was violent, it didn't strike me as an all-out attack by a mindless youkai on its prey. Could it be that there's still a spark of recognition somewhere within Inu's rage that Kagome isn't something to kill? Or, more likely, Naraku was holding Inu back in hopes Kagome would be desperate enough to shoot Inu in a reprise of what Kikyou did to Inuyasha, even to the point of providing a poisoned arrow for Kagome to shoot. Which would generate a lot more fear and loathing to fuel the jewel. If Kagome had considered taking the arrow, even for a moment, it would also have provided Naraku an avenue to attack Kagome's greatest strength -- her unshakeable faith in her friends. Man, Naraku is one twisted, evil wretch. He wanted Kagome angry enough or fearful enough to strike back at Inu, thereby providing him an opening to defeat Kagome's good heart. So far, though, no success. Meanwhile, what Naraku did to Sango was really low and slimy. First he shows Sango very graphic images of the fate that awaits Miroku if he uses the Kazaana any more, lets her get good and frightened for her man, and then readies an attack that will probably put Miroku in a position of choosing death by Kazaana or watching Sango be speared by tentacles. Or putting Sango in a position of sacrificing her own life to keep Miroku alive. And Sango must now realize that if she is by Miroku's side when the Kazaana goes out of control, she'll be destroyed along with him. Which is exactly what Naraku wants her to think, since now Sango will have to be afraid OF her man as well as fearing for him. And with all this up in the air, there will be no chapter next week. Nice timing. (^_*) |

I have to agree, Inuyasha's attack wasn't nearly as vicious as it could have been. Rather than punch her in the chest, he could have easily ripped her chest open. Maybe there's still a part of normal Inuyasha inside that wants to get Kagome away before he completely loses control? Not the best method (punching her over a cliff), but at least she's away from him now. I want to think positive about my little pet dog demon... |

Finally caught up with the manga, wasn't easy reading 170 + chapters in two days (still to recover from eye strains). A lot sure has happened since the end
of the anime. Now I want them to continue the anime even more. Is it too late to discuss all those chapter? How about just the really juicy ones, huh?
Naraku's just playing some sick mind game with them. I don't think Sango would think about leaving Miroku for the fear of that she might be drawn in by his wind tunnel, but rather, she's more afraid of losing Miroku. It seemed like Inuyasha gained some awareness at the moment when Kagome fell doesn't it? The fact that Sesshomaru appears by Kagome leads me to think that she is dead, and Sessh would revive her with tenseiga, she hasn't been dead once before, right? I'm not ready for this to end yet, and it doesn't look like it'll come to an end in next chapter. Hate that we have to wait past the holiday. |

Thanks Yusaku Godai, now I can quit sharing my reactions with the wall. No need to start a new topic, it'll be just like a revision before the big finale.
First of all, why have Goryoumaru changed his name to Moryoumaru? Which one is it? Chap 374: I was hoping Kagura didn't have to die. Why couldn't tenseiga save her? Sesshy almost looks like he has slight feelings for her. On the other hand, Inuyasha has really grown protective of Sesshy, and kind of vice versa. Chap 494 pg 17: Takahashi sensei is such a teaser! She'd let Inu and Kikyo kiss so randomly without hesitations, yet the most Kag can get is a hug. I particularly enjoy the chapters where kouga's traveling with the Inu gang. Just love it when he flirts with Kag and makes Inu jealous. I cried like a baby on the chapters where Kikyo was badly injured and died. Wasn't sure why, but then I gathered it was because it made her seem even more important to Inu and made him love her more than anything. I felt so bad for Kagome, especially when he gave Kikyo that final kiss, he was crying and all. Sometimes I really wish Kag is the one who's badly hurt instead of Kikyo, maybe then Inu'll pay more attention to her. Am I wrong to be convinced that he loves Kikyo so much more than Kag? Sessh's mom reminds me of sailor moon. I wonder where Sessh gets his indifferent attitude and extreme good looks from. I agree that Magatsuhi (megasushi, Chap 520 pg 11: Inu hiding behind pole and innocent face at bottom left -- cutest thing ever. So... Naraku uses the jewel to transform into an ugly giant spider, what more power does he want? The jewel's already pitch black. I'm still not to clear on what's his plan yet, but then again, his plans were never clear until the moment of truth. Phoooo.. nice to have all that off my chest. Most of my fav chapters are pretty emotional, 'cause I'm a emotional wreck myself. These scenes would have been more touching/romantic if they were animated with colors and background music etc. Is the manga actually this crude even in the Japanese version with the obscene language? I also didn't like the nudity. But RT sure has a talent for priceless face expressions. |

Thanks Yusaku Godai, now I can quit sharing my reactions with the wall. No need to start a new topic, it'll be just like a revision before the big finale.Moryomaru and Goryomaru aren't the same person. Goryomaru was murdered by Hakudoshi, Moryomaru impersonated him. Chap 374: I was hoping Kagura didn't have to die. Why couldn't tenseiga save her? Sesshy almost looks like he has slight feelings for her. I don't know about that, especially way back in chapter 374. They still had a few more heated fights left in them at that point. I particularly enjoy the chapters where kouga's traveling with the Inu gang.Yeah, I thought he'd end up sticking with them until the end rather than just a few chapters. It was certainly an interesting dynamic that was added to the group while he was there! Sessh's mom reminds me of sailor moon. I wonder where Sessh gets his indifferent attitude and extreme good looks from. No, the actual essence of good within the Jewel is known as Naohi. It was provided by Midoriko, but isn't actually her. But to each his or her own I guess. Inuyasha speaks in a fairly coarse way, but some translators take more liberty with it than others. |
