I admit it took me a little longer to like Mitaka then it did for me to like Kouga and Ryouga because I felt Mitaka could be a little too forceful at times but he won me over when he bought that puppy so he could get over his fear of dogs. And although people call Mitaka a womanizer you have to give the guy credit he DID wait for Kyoko for all those years and though at times he tried to force her to give him an answer he never actually forced Kyoko to give him the answer he wanted to hear. I didn't always agree with all of Mitaka's methods but he really wasn't a bad guy.
Kouga never really forced Kagome to do anything. If anything he brought Inuyasha and Kagome closer together since Kouga was the first guy that Inuyasha was really jealous of. I always thought Kouga did get that Kagome didn't like him he just refused to see it, hence he refused to give up. We can say Kouga's fault and his strength was he was persistant. In the end he did give up on Kagome and he even told her to cheer Inuyasha up. And teased Inuyasha to get him over Kikyou. Kouga showed he was a really great guy in the end and in my opinion a character who is really under appreciated by Inuyasha fans.
As for Ryouga one minute he is fighting Ranma the next minute he is Ranma's ally. Unlike Kouga and Mitaka, Ryouga was extremely shy and not forceful at all. Akane never knew poor Ryouga's feelings. Even though I wanted Ranma and Akane to be together and never could help sympathizing with Ryouga. Of all the characters in any of Takahashi series Ryouga deserved a girlfriend the most since he was such a genuine nice guy. So I am really glad he ended up with Akari who loves him for who he is.
So I was just curious of these type of characters (both female and male) who are your favorites and why?
