I was just thinking today that the english voice actress who played Kagura was pretty talented, but I hardly ever hear anyone appraising her talent. Are there any other voice actors in IY or in general that anyone feels should get more credit for their work?

I agree that Kagura's voice was definitely well done. Another one worth mentioning would probably be Naraku. He really brought out the sinister of the
character, yet he could do a excellent job on a character entirely diverse from Naraku. I think I make a list of voice actors in an earlier thread, whom I
cannot believe voiced so many different characters.

In terms of anime, I think Paul Dobson, who did both Myoga and Naraku which are two totally different voices, plus Happosai and probably others, is among the
best. That's pretty convincing range, I'd have never thought it was the same guy. In general I think Viz has some of the best voice actors in their
stable. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any character from Takahashi's cartoons where I thought the voicework from Japanese to English was
drastic (nothing like some of the stuff that came over in the mid-nineties, like Dragonball Z or Sailor Moon at least).
He certainly got recognition, but I still wanted to mention Phil Hartman's great voice work in animation (I'm Lionel Hutz . . . law . . . talking . . . guy?) , & Dan Castallanetta and Maurice LaMarche, who both have voiced dozens of name-recognizable cartoon characters for decades. |

Good topic Lum no Fanboy, I love talking voice actors, especially Ocean Group voice actors.
Janyse Jaud played Kagura, and I agree she did a great job. She was also Akemi in Maison Ikkoku and Ms. Hinako in Ranma, so she's been lots of really diverse (sexy) Takahashi women. Some of my favorite overlooked Inuyasha voices would have to be: Brian Drummond as Renkotsu Chiarra Zani as Yura of the Hair (really sexy voice!) Jonathan Holmes as Takemaru no Setsuna (from Movie 3) |

I was really pleased when Ted Cole (aka Tatewaki Kuno from Ranma ½) showed up as Kuranosuke in episode 78. I've always thought he had a great voice. Glad
to see him in the last few episodes of Death Note too. And yeah, I thought Jonathan Holmes was great too. That was the first (and only) thing I've heard
him in.

Oooo, I'm a big Brian Drummond fan! I can't honestly say if I prefer his Vegeta voice to the Funimation guy's, but he has one awesome manly voice.
My favorite character that he did was, of course, the very Sesshomaru-ish, Zechs Merchise, of Gundam Wing.
Hey, was it Ted Cole that played Vicious on Cowboy Bebop? I have heard so many different opinions on that, I've lost track!

I still find it amazing that a lot of the voice actors that did voices for Inuyasha did Transformers in the English verison. The Beast Wars seasons were my
favorite.
