The anime was cancelled over 15 years ago, so... yeah, it's deader than Mr. Soichiro. The only place left to go from here is to watch the OVAs (which
translate a bundle of stories up through volume 29) or read the manga (the end of season 7 brings you through volume 22 of 38).

Wow. I've heard people asking about Inuyasha...alot...lately, but that's only been done for a few years now. Yeah, I'd have to agree that Ranma 1/2
is pretty well done and done.

It was cancelled because the producers were ready to move on with the OVA series, and ratings were not as good as they needed to be. The OVAs ended before
Takahashi finished the manga, so when the anime did end, no one (including Takahashi at the time) knew how the series would end.

that stinks and there is no way to get them to start makeing more of ranma 1/2?

Nope. Thankfully there is some good fanfictions out there among the many bad ones that continue the story quite well.

I think if it happens with Inuyasha then it MIGHT be possible, but, I still doubt it'll ever happen with Ranma 1/2.

I have an idea,
How about we all send an e-mail to Rumiko Takahashi telling her that we want Ranma back in any way (New Series, New OVA or New Movie) How about this idea?? |

I can see this happening only one way, and it doesn't involves foreigners' interventions at all.
This is what I think, after the manga for Inuyasha concludes, the production board might be interested in finishing it up in animated form, and releasing it as OAVs and a concluding movie. After that, since they're already at it, they might continue with the same studio and animate another season of Rumic Theater. After that, and if they all do well financially, they MIGHT get the crazy idea to resurrect a 15 year old series so that they can milk some more money from Takahashi's brilliant stories..... ....Either that or Takahashi herself gets annoyed with all the email's she gets from foreigners and throws down 300 million Yen of her personal money to appease them.....

Just to throw yet another monkey wrench in the works, as if it needed another one, Takahasha doesn't have a comp. Never had, reportedly never will.
Though, our wonderful webmasters did give us some snail mail addies, just in case you wanted to give it a shot, I'll cut and paste it for ya.

It doesn't really matter what y'all write if it isn't in Japanese.

And yes, like Hoshi said, writing it in Japanese would be necessary. |

Also necessary-convincing an animation studio to spend their limited monetary resources in a dwindling anime market to produce a series that another studio
left unfinished over a decade ago and that, should their efforts be a success, will have no more stories to animate and build a franchise upon.

childisfatheroftheman wrote: *laughs* That too. And also, just to emphasize this... Takahashi has nothing to do with the anime. It would be like asking Harrison Ford for more Star Wars. So asking her to "finish the anime" would not be a good idea. |
