What are your ideas on the Ranma couples? |

I know a lot of people have different opinions on the couples, and, well... I want to hear them! I like:
Ranma and Akane Shampoo and Mousse Ryoga and Akari Ukyo and Konatsu Ryoga and Akari Azusa and Tsubasa Kuno and Nabiki Kodachi and Picolet |

I think Ranma should go with Shampoo. She seems to be more into him than Akane, can cook better than Akane, and would be a happy woman just for being his wife.

Why no offense, but i think shampoo and ranma would work HORRIBLY together! she only fell 4 him bcuz of a dumb law...

Well, Akane only got engaged to him because Soun and Genma forced them on each other. While they grow to love each other as time goes on, the initial meeting
was not a loving one. Ranma is really a ladies man. ( and a man's lady at times
 ) In the end, I really do think Ranma and Akane were made for each
other, though I can't really say who at the beginning: Shampoo with her strange tribal laws or Akane who's father had a habit of marrying off his girls
to anyone who'll offer him a dowry, has any more 'right' to Ranma.
As for couples, as you can tell from my screenname, I'm a fan of Ryoga and I always believed he should be with Akari.

The only couples I unconditionally support are Ranma/Akane, Ryoga/Akari
and Genma/Nodoka. I like Mousse/Shampoo, but I pretty much like Mousse/anybody as long as they are happy. And despite the opening statement, I have a soft spot for Ryoga/Ukyo (no doubt because the first lengthier fanfic I read was focussed on them AND took Akari into consideration, unfortunately it has been abandoned for almost a decade.)

I've always liked Akane/Ranma because it seems like the tough love they always have is more real. And would deeply do anything for the other. I'm not
sure if Mousse's unrequited love is only because he is always in comparison to Ranma, maybe if he didn't have glasses/wasn't so blind Shampoo
*might* go for him, and if Ranma ever finally did look Shampoo in the eyes and firmly state he had no romantic intentions for her. That prolly still
wouldn't stop her....
I wish I could see more of Kasumi and Tofu together because it's hard to think all we ever see is Dr. Tofu losing all common sense when he's around her and it would be nice to see him do *something* romantic like at least hold her or use a serious voice!

I agree with you about Kasumi and Dr. Tofu, Diko Linnai. He's known her for years, yet he hasn't gotten over his nervousness yet. He's intelligent,
kind and professional, but he loses his senses completely when she walks into his office. Yeah, I would have loved Dr. Tofu to acknowledge his feelings towards
her at some point. I also would have loved for him to stay on in the series a bit longer, he was such a fun character. I suppose I understand why Takahashi let
him fall by the wayside. Ranma and Akane didn't really need him anymore; they kind of grew up and grew beyond the need for his advice. I just didn't
think when I started reading the series that he would ever disappear.

I started to watch the anime (been reading the manga for years, never watched the anime) last summer when I realized my school library had the series, and I LOVED Kasumi and Tofu's relationship! They're so cute! I wish he had been kept around in the manga and Takahashi had worked with it just a little more

I don't mean to stray but on a mini tangent, there's a quick scene in the ending theme "Red Shoe Sunday" of one of the oavs where Kasumi is
singing her part and you see Dr. Tofu all dressed up supposedly to go out w/ her and he looks GOOOOD and I was like, "go on go on I want to see what
happens!" lol

But that's not what I meant - with both Tofu and Cologne there were two
resident sages (equally capable of giving advice on techniques, legends etc.) and Cologne won out, having better story/conflict generating ability.

I know that Tofu was there to kind of give the two a small push, I was just talking about him and Kasumi in general. As for the singles, I would have also
liked to see who eventually ends up w/ Ukyo, Nabiki, Kuno, etc.

That is how Tsubasa/Azusa is usually assumed to proceed.
I've got a soft spot for Pantyhose/Azusa (which works the same way) and Konatsu/Azusa as well.

Any relationship must regardless last past the "meet cute" intial reaction. Get to know each other. Know possibly each other's likes and dislikes
perhaps personality. See where that goes etc etc.
