I got a job! |
Lead | |
|
My first real job! I'm going to be a child psychologist at an elementary school on the gulf coast. haha The salary is pretty awful, but its better than
having no money at all. I'll start in about five weeks. I'm going to a class everyday full of kids who uh.....have behavioral "problems" in
their classes. haha So that should be interesting. In addition to the class, I'll be counseling children who might be having a bad day or going through a
tough time with something, and helping them out as well.
I never expected I'd end up in the same field as Godai in Maison Ikkoku. Eerie! |

Great news! Good to hear! Congratulations!
BTW, just curious, how far is Biloxi from Gulfport? I think my folks snowbirded in both communities in 2000. I never expected I'd end up in the same field as Godai in Maison Ikkoku. Eerie! All kidding aside, I think it is most fitting. You'll have a good chance to do the world some real good one child at a time. Best wishes in your endeavors!

Yes, best of luck! As for ending up in your namesake's field, well, maybe you subconsciously wanted to follow in his footsteps and meet your own Kyoko.
(Does Hoshi remind you of her at times?

Biloxi and Gulfport are basically the exact same city. Think Dallas/Fort Worth, they're literally right beside each other and are basically the same place. haha |

Congratulations on the first step of what will be a long and productive career! My wife just graduated from college (second time around) for being a
Teacher's Aid. So you and she will have many similarities in what you do. Good luck! And don't worry so much about the taxes because you could be
living in Canada!!!

I'm so happy for you! It seems like a career which you will truly love and enjoy. Remember, you're not just doing this for the money, the impact you
could make on these kids' lives is an incredible reward. Okay, so you won't be making six figures, but living up to your namesake just couldn't be
a more perfect way to start out making your way in the world. I hope this is a wonderful beginning to your life as it was for Godai.

Congrats on the new job! My older brother did child psychology and it truly is a rewarding career. You're gonna learn a lot of unique things about the
human mind/personality that you most likely will look back on and see how you relate to how these growing minds perceive things it's really interesting.
Best of luck to you with this new career!

That's wonderful! Hope those kids won't send you looking for a psychologist for yourself, haha. Kids give me headaches.

Grats on the job!
Heh, I'm about to go back to school and get certified to teach high school math. Been considering a career change when my current contract expires in 2011, and teaching has always been a thought in the back of my mind. All the people getting involved in education here is almost scary I'll miss my income. Becoming a teacher will be a huge pay cut |

I definitely can't handle a straight '9-5' job for long I've discovered. Hope the acting thing works out!! lol Man Hoshi, I've read and listened to what some actors have to go through to make movies and shows. I think it might be worse than 9 to 5, but good luck anyway!
