One question about the ending *spoilers* |

I know that at the end, they got the well working again so Kagome could cross over to InuYasha. Does that mean the well always works? Or did it only work one
time to allow her to go back? Can she ever get back to the modern era again?

I think the final chapter made clear that Kagome's feelings controlled the well. Once she linked her feelings completely to the Feudal Era, the well had
to open to allow her passage. Kagome made her break with the modern era when she thought of it as "that world" and not "my world" because
Inuyasha wasn't in it. So I doubt she'll be going back to the modern era in person.
That doesn't necessarily mean she couldn't communicate with her modern-era family. She could find a way to create time capsules of some sort and leave them by the well or by the Goshinboku tree in a way that would make future discovery likely. Her messages would be traveling futureward with the natural flow of time. Granted, Kagome would never get a delivery confirmation, but she could at least hope. Or perhaps the well would allow passage of letters back and forth, if Kagome wanted this enough. (Letters across time? Another plot bunny is born.) (^_*) |

I don't know, I sort of think maybe Kagome can travel back and forth but InuYasha can't now. That would explain two things:
1- Why Souta knows she's married. 2- Why they decided to definitively live in the sengoku era. If IY can't get through, there's no other choice for them. But I think she left it purposely ambiguous so it's up to us. |

I would lean more towards Kagome not being able to go back anymore. Her goodbye to her mother had a air of finality about it to me.

I think that the whole point of having her spend three years in the modern era only would be an argument towards having her now stay only in the Sengoku
Jidai. She needed that time to give her family, and herself a sense of completion as far as her modern era life is concerned. If she could now travel between
eras, I think her time away from Inuyasha would be, for me, a waste if she could now travel back and forth as she pleased.

I agree with Yusaku and Ryogasgirl, I think the way Mrs. Higurashi was looking at her with a rather sad expression means that they were saying goodbye for
good.

Sota says, "She finished high school...then went off to get married..." and there's definitely a sense that he wouldn't see her again. And of
course, as stated before, the expression on Kagome's mom says a lot. I had to smile when Kagome calls out to Sesshomaru as "Oniisama" The annoyed
look on him as well as the expression on Inuaysha's face is priceless. But at the end of it all, I had a tear in my eye but had to smile when I remembered
what Takahashi said to me all those years ago when I had asked her how do you think the series would end, "I hope everyone will have a happy ending when
it's all over."

You all are probably right about the well being closed.
Anyway, there's one thing she didn't bring that makes me a little sad. Her bow! She'll obviously need a bow quite frequently and the Asuza one was very special. |

*Because of Haro's statement now imagines Kagome dressed as Azusa Shiratori* o.o
