Kohaku and Kikyo (spoilers) !!! |
Lead | |
|
Just a random thought: Now that Kohaku is training to be a taijiya, he is taking the life Kikyo has given him and using it for the betterment of the world.
Kikyo was a miko and Kohaku is a taijiya, but their goals are teh same. I'm glad she could live on, in a way, through such a good young man. Do you think
he thinks of her often when he's training since she's the reason he's alive?

Since we only see him for a panel or two at the end, it's hard for me to guess. I thought it was more like he had grown up past his more childish
behaviors and become the responsible adult his father would have raised. That, and he just wanted to get out of a house with three kids in it.

After murdering countless innocent people I'm surprised he didn't hang up the old sickle and chain for good once Naraku died. He's a bloodthristy
monster and I love him for it. *laughs*

After murdering countless innocent people I'm surprised he didn't hang up the old sickle and chain for good once Naraku died. He's a bloodthristy monster and I love him for it. *laughs*Even though he accepted the fact that he should live, I think he probably still feels a bit of guilt for what happened. His devotion to protecting others from evil youkai might be an attempt at some kind of retribution for what he'd done. Yeah, he knows it was all Naraku's doing, but knowing your hand was the one that killed your family is something that never really goes away. |

I'm glad that in his final apperance, Kohaku is light hearted and he can joke about not wanting to live with Sango and Miroku. That he can actually live a
life of adventure and be somewhat carefree is well-deserved. So in that respect, I hope he isn't too...........caught up.....with doing something
meaningful with his like, for Kikyo or anyone else.
This is a great topic though, ryogasgirl, as I was always very intrigued with Kohaku and Kikyo's pairing. They were two characters who had existed for virtually the entire manga, yet never interacted with one another, and then finally they were travelling together. I think I'd like to go back and check out those chapters again, get a feel for their relationship. |

I don't see the point when he said that he won't return to visit the group every now and again. I mean, why not? It's kind of sad to think that
he'll never see them again.

Well, I personally think he'll visit every now and again. After all, they all have the same sort of profession - youkai hunters. For now, however, his
sister's house is too small for such a young man with so much ambition and drive. It may not be that it's physically crowded, but there's too many
people around for whom he would feel responsible. He wouldn't have the freedom to focus on his training, but would feel obligated to help Sango with the
babies or the villagers with whatever needs they may have. He needs time to himself to hone his skills before he returns to the village to settle down -
perhaps with Rin
