This is a minor point, but it bugged me. In volume 5 of Viz's MI, in the story "Just a Little Card", where Kyoko reads Soichiro's diary, she comments that he was twenty-one years old when she met him (according to the Viz translation). But I recalled that Sochiro's age was twenty-seven years old or about 10 years older than Kyoko. Was this a typo, or did Viz do it on purpose? Was his age different in the anime?

 According to the various boards out there in cyberspace, the accepted age of Soichiro when he receives the card is 27, he will die at about 30. So this is either a typo in the manga or the boards of all these veteran Maison Ikkoku fans are messed up.

Soichiro's father looks SO old, it's hard to believe Soichiro was ONLY 30. I thought he must have been older....
