I had some requests to show off scans from some of the new stuff we got this week and thought I'd start off with one of the new Maison Ikkoku Sound
Theater discs.
To begin, each disc has a very small sliver of an image on the spine. Once you've amassed all the discs you get one huge image featuring the entire cast
of the series. All of the new discs I got are non-sequential, so I thought I'd re-show my recent scan of Discs 2 through 10. Kamiogi, some of Ibuki's
friends, Ibuki and the Yagami's are all visible.
Now some new stuff! I just picked out one of the discs at random. Here are various scans from Disc 34, starting with the cover. Each cover features an
illustration by of Kyoko wearing a different outfit. Here we see Kyoko doing laundry. Each cover is illustrated by Atsuko Nakajima, character designer of
Ranma 1/2 and illustrator of most Takahashi anime production art during the 1990s.
The first page of the disc booklet, which is attached to the spine of the CD. This shows that the episodes featured are 67 and 68. Each disc has two episodes
for a total of 48 (!!!) discs. On the right hand side you can see an index of what features this disc has, who the guest interview is, what the "Music
Break Time" song will be, etc.
Images from episode 67 to help the listener visualize what's going on.
The Music Break Time spread. Each disc has a photo of the Japanese landscape with a smaller image of the guest interview. Disc 34's interview is with
Yuriko Fuchizaki, Ibuki's seiyuu.
Images of the featured character from the disc. Of course for this disc it's Ibuki Yagami. Lots of cute pictures here.
And the disc itself.
And because I love you guys so much, here are some sample tracks!
An early track from the disc, Episode 67.
Music Break Time from Disc 34: Waiting on My Sweetheart by Kenji Morisaki
A track from late in Episode 67.
