I've been having kind of a rough month, and nothing cheers me up like drawing the UY gang when I've got some free time, and using it to play around and see how fast I can do something. And I'm kinda excited about the new episode coming out (belatedly) for the "It's a Rumic World" exhibit. Anyway, this is the stuff I drew, in the order I drew it: --- --- --- --- And just so it's not all UY, here's my first shot at Maison Ikkoku (not counting them as background characters in this.): That was fun! I love the Shinobu drawing, it almost makes me want to blow it up and hang it in my office with mine and other artist's I've collected. Hmm...I just might do that if it's alright, I love to collect other artist's perceptions on RT characters. I bought a drawing of Lum from an artist at AX as I recently posted in another thread. It's wonderful to see someone love the UY world as much as I do to dream up other scenarios! Completing a drawing of something thought up always gives me such a nice sense of accomplishment, I know exactly how you feel. Speaking of which, I recently drew a rendition of "Gangster Ten-chan" per a fanfiction I read of Andyjay's in which Ten grew up and was on "Behind the Anime" (Andyjay did you ever get that ok I wanted to make sure I sent it to the right email ) From Andyjay's "Behind the Anime:" "...Ten (who now looks like a gangsta rapper, complete with a beanie, baggy clothes, and everything, and wearing a tank top labeled "Kid Rock"): You've probably heard about how I was the lowest-paid member of the cast. I always felt like the kid, the comedy relief, and when Lum caught me drinking..." Again, regretably, it's like comparing Windsor McCay to the Ziggy cartoonist >_<; especially since all I have is colored pencils and the backs of leftover faxes. BTW frogisis did you digitally color these? How can I learn to digitally color and what program do you use? It looks a lot easier than obviously other mediums i.e. watercolors, pencils, etc. I think I'm just getting too lazy anymore to break out the easel and paints. For some reason, I really like Yotsuya's steins - it's like a mess of graffiti. I also really enjoyed the 7 deadly sins...haha the ham is bigger than Cherry and "incognito" with Sugar, Pepper and Ginger wearing fake moustaches. I can so see them doing that. And Diko - wow, seeing Ten as a gangster - not so little and 'innocent' anymore, is he . I like how you added a flame to his hat - don't sell yourself short, it's really good! I'll tell you what, heck of alot better than I could ever hope to do!

They were a lot of fun to do, and I'd love to do more. It's not hard to come up with a fun UY drawing, so when I've got some time with nothing better to do, I'll see if I can't whip something up. I thought it would be fun to draw something quintessentially American but with that Japanese-style "pointless mask". I can just hear Ten going "WAAAAAAAH!" as he flaps away. Now that pirates and ninjas are played out, though, someone needs to take their place, and I've got my money on pilgrims. That's the best colored pencil work I've seen you do yet! Everyone's expressive and they've really got some volume to them, especially Happosai's head. Ten looks pretty dapper with that top hat, too; I wonder why that hasn't caught on... His hair is especially well-drawn here, though. Work weighs pretty heavily, but I still like to sketch the UY crew from time to time. I'll be back in and out to post new things whenever the feeling strikes me, and other people are welcome to post their drawings in here, too! I don't want to be the only drawing guy!
