Post what you think is the weirdest UY moment.
Personally, I think the scene from Movie 3 in which Lum and Ataru are trapped inside the orb is the weirdest UY moment ever. You can definitely see how Mamoru Oshii's influence remained in the series long after he left.

Lum and Ataru experience numerous illusions created by the orb in an attempt to keep them from recognizing each other, thus separating them. However, even simple illusions aren't enough to keep Lum from recognizing her Darling. She manages to find Ataru every time. There are three illusions total: fairy, dinosaur, and seagull.
The reason why I use the term "illusion" is because there weren't any physical changes taking place during the scene. The fairy, dinosaur, and seagull sequences simply fade in and out.
P.S.
Just in case you're worried by the thought of Lum as a fat brontasaurus, just keep in mind that it's merely an illusion and that there is no physical change.
